The mission of Southern Vance High School is to graduate every student with a high school diploma. The faculty and staff are focused on "teaching for learning".

Southern Vance High School's vision is to provide a caring and safe environment so that the school's mission can be implemented. The faculty and staff have a strong commitment to equip students with the 21st century skills needed for:

  • Success in postsecondary educational settings.

  • Competition in the local, state or global workplace.

  • Competetive enrollment in the military.

 

We are committed to:

  • Demonstrating care and respect for all students.
  • Incorporating technology into instruction.
  • Providing ninth grade students with a successful transition to high school through the Freshman Academy.
  • Keeping all students engaged in rigorous, curriculum-based activities.

NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

»  starA Vance County Community Resource Fair is scheduled to
      take place at Southern Vance High School on March 20.
 
      The school system is partnering with the Vance County Cooperative
      Extension Service in planning the event.  Students from both
      Southern Vance and Northern Vance high schools will be able to 
      attend the resource fair and visit vendors.  Students from one of the
      schools will attend the fair from 9 to 11 a.m. and students from the 
      other school will attend from 1:30 to 3 p.m.  The resource fair will
      be open to the public from 3:30 to 5 p.m.  All activities are free.
      Representatives from approximately 25 public service agencies,
      educational facilities, businesses and more will be on hand to share
      information with students and area residents who attend the
      Community Resource Fair.

starDue to missed student days because of recent inclement
     weather, the six-week grading period for students at
     Northern Vance, Southern Vance and Western Vance high
     schools will not end until Tuesday, March 11.  Report cards
     for students in these schools will now be distributed on
     Tuesday, March 18.
